A quick update from us as to how we are continuing to offer training during this Level 4 period:

Workplace literacy and numeracy online delivery

We have moved a number of these sessions into online delivery. It’s working well with the right digital literacy support we are providing. Upskilling people fast to get to grips with the technology. It’s an essential part of the ‘new normal’ and it’s great to equip participants with these digital literacy skills for life. They can now connect, learn, socialise and work online. Once people are comfortable with the technology, workplace communication and the learning inside this can take place.

We’ve shortened our sessions and made them more regular. There are lots of options here to make learning accessible and engaging. Where sessions have moved online, they have the added benefit for participants to connect and build relationships with their teammates. This is an important part of making sure everyone’s doing okay. We’re using video conferencing tools like Zoom and Teams to bring our usual engaging, interactive sessions online. These sessions are supported by access to tailormade resources.

Leadership

We’ve worked hard to deliver our training remotely and are excited to offer the NZ Certificate in Business (Team Leadership) online.  This is a ‘flipped’ session model where you have access to the materials to move through at your own pace before you hit the online Zoom hui with your teammates. You can then discuss, reflect and extend your knowledge of the material. These sessions really bring the content to life.

Other options to engage with online include:

Mindset

Our Mindset course was inspired by the work of Carol Dweck on ‘growth mindset’. The programme challenges individuals to take on new learning and perspectives.

Tetramap™

TetraMap™  is a simple and effective communication tool which can improve communication and relationships by responding more appropriately to the behaviour of others. Find out more about this course.

New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Processing (Level 2)

This qualification on the NZQA framework is a great next step on the career pathway for those working in food or beverage manufacturing. We use a mixture of online sessions and access to materials in our learning management system to deliver this programme.
