Sam is the General Manager at The Big Picture, and he told us he loves the variety of work, the incredible team of people and the development opportunities that the company provides.
What did you learn that has had the most impact on your leadership?
Sam was part of the Print NZ Leadership cohort from 2023. He successfully gained a Level 3 Certificate in Business (Team Leadership). He said the piece of learning from the programme that impacted his leadership the most was how to use different leadership styles most effectively.
Can you share your best learning tip?
On the course, he learnt to recognise and understand the ladder of inference. This was something that resonated with Sam and was a key takeaway.
What are your next goals?
Growth in revenue, staff, equipment and capability.
What advice would you give to other leaders?
Sam’s best leadership tip is to, “identify team member strengths and empower the right people.” He also recommends reading Simon Sinek.
