While the country locked down in late August, the Rotorua group of emerging leaders on the Higgins Kia Maia programme locked in their commitment. They smashed out the programme, attending 98% of their online sessions.
Key Themes
Whanaungatanga and wellbeing were front and centre of their project innovations and their commitment to improving this for themselves and their teams was clear. Alongside this programme was a core communications Kia Maia group who also did the bulk of their learning online and during lockdowns.
Flipping The Switch
Flipping The Switch was their innovation – a memory cue to nudge compliance with ISO switch procedure which will not only save money (up to $20K annually) but also reduce frustration and improve efficiency. No mean feat when you consider this group had to ramp up to online learning quickly, and for some, it was the first time engaging with a computer or smartphone. Making it count, digital learning was front and centre alongside living up to the programme name, to be bold and speak up about issues they face in the day-to-day job.
Congratulations to our trailblazing (and first to graduate) Kia Maia groups – Tau kē!
