Ingham’s first engaged with Upskills in 2019 to enquire about the development of a course that targeted staff who had the potential to become our next people leaders or influencers. We wanted a program of work that would support the development of conflict management, goal setting, problem-solving mindset and constructive conversation skills.
Sarah Balfour came with a wealth of knowledge and experience, working with manufacturing industries and the complexities that come with having shift workers. Sarah’s initial approach, of learning as much about our needs and how our business runs, made the program development run seamlessly.
Sarah’s team facilitated a 12-week program of work, to 24 participants. The staff loved the program, the engagement right from the start is a testimony to Upskills. The Upskills team were professional in their approach with an open and approachable manner. Communication throughout the entire process and beyond has been outstanding. The team is always flexible to work with the changing demands of our business, especially through this challenging year of lockdown.
Ingham’s has been impressed with the outcome of this work, seeing several participants, move into leadership or other influencing roles. This cohort of staff continues to support each other and extend the skills learnt.
The staff have also shared about how this program impacted them in their personal lives as well, which supports Ingham’s philosophy of development in a person as a whole.
