Answers to some of the questions we are asked most often

How do I know which funding is available to our organisation to start with?

We can help with that!  It starts with a conversation to help us understand what you need to achieve through training. Maybe you need to solve an issue with a training solution. Or perhaps you want to create a workforce training plan to develop your team?

We have engaged with training in the past but it hasn’t really made a difference. What’s different about the Upskills' approach?

We develop training solutions focused on creating a lasting impact and leaving a meaningful legacy. It’s not just about a brief, temporary experience that is quickly forgotten. Instead, we bring about real change that extends beyond the training period.

To achieve this, we establish clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) right from the beginning. We believe in a collaborative approach, working closely with our clients to ensure success and generate tangible returns on investment.

Part of a learning journey

Even after the physical training sessions conclude, we emphasise the importance of ongoing learning. All stakeholders are actively involved in the process, playing a crucial role in collaborating and co-designing the learning so they are committed to the journey.

Do you deliver on site?

Yes, most of our clients find this the best mode of delivery for them.

Is all learning delivered face-to face?

Face-to-face has proven to be the best model. However, it’s sometimes necessary to be flexible and practice our digital communication skills! We work with you to design the best solution for your workforce at the time your programme rolls out.

Does Upskills provide technology as required?

We have a kit of Chromebooks, tablets and laptops to help our learners build digital skills and confidence.

Can Upskills help with scheduling sessions for shift workers?

We’re used to making learning happen early morning or evening. We believe it’s important to show up for shift workers and our timetables can accommodate this.

Do you deliver around Aotearoa?

Upskills has a strong facilitator network up and down the country. We deliver training all over New Zealand.

Do you run public courses if we just have one or two individuals wanting to join a programme?

Yes, mainly in the leadership area. Visit our Pop Up Leadership course page for dates and locations near you.

My staff get bored by lecture-style Powerpoint training sessions. How do you make training interesting as well as informative?

We use an experiential approach to learning to ensure we deliver dynamic, relevant content in a hands-on, interesting way. Learners actively participate in creating their own learning process. We find this approach leads to success.
