Learning is all about creating impact
And so we’re excited to share that Upskills’ mahi on Project Ikuna has earnt us a place as a finalist in the 2022 Diversity Awards NZ™ in the Impact Award category. The Diversity Awards is all about celebrating excellence in workplace diversity and inclusion.
We know it’s just the beginning of the impact we are starting to see on the Project Ikuna vaka, which aims to build the future readiness of Tāmaki Makaurau’s Pasifika workforce.
Being a finalist means this vital learning initiative will become more visible to organisations keen to upskill their Pacific workforce. We are fortunate to have some great provider partners in this work in addition to our key stakeholders Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and MBIE.
Project Ikuna is a culturally responsive learning programme delivering micro-credentials in financial and digital literacy to Auckland’s Pasifika workforce.
“E lauhoe mai na wa‘a; i ke kā, i ka hoe; i ka hoe, i ke kā; pae aku i ka ‘āina.”
Everybody pulls the canoe together; bail and paddle, paddle and bail; and the shore will be reached.
Congratulations to other finalists in this category:
- Belong Aotearoa
- Deaf Aotearoa
- New Zealand Red Cross Rīpeka Whero Aotearoa
