About the role 

Upskills is an award-winning* workplace training provider delivering high-quality, learner-centred training nationwide. We are currently looking for a dynamic manufacturing trainer with direct manufacturing experience in New Zealand to join our team of contractors.

The successful applicant will deliver general manufacturing and food manufacturing Level 2 & 3 NZQA unit standard based learning to our participants in Auckland and potentially around the country.

You will need a solid understanding of the industry including quality, health and safety, food safety, GMP and continuous improvement processes. The successful applicant will have a strong manufacturing background including experience working in a manufacturing environment, possibly at the team leader level. Central to our kaupapa at Upskills is unlocking confidence in our learners to succeed at work and beyond.

What we’re looking for

Someone who,

  • Has worked in the manufacturing sector in an operational environment and has a good working knowledge of manufacturing principles and processes.
  • Is interested in working with adults to achieve their workplace learning goals.
  • Is keen to take the next step in their career to be a workplace trainer and willing to work with us to achieve adult education skills and qualifications if necessary.
  • Can work to deliver on specifically scoped KPIs on workplace training projects with our clients.
  • Has confidence in engaging and working with people from a range of backgrounds.
  • Is self-motivated and able to work remotely, as well as interact with learners and employers to deliver an effective training programme.
  • Can deliver weekly reports, maintain attendance records, and compile administrative tasks as required.

It is a contract role with the volume of work depending on programme demand. Training experience is not as important as manufacturing experience as we will work with the right candidate to develop their training skills and career path.
